Harbourside is a design collaboration between Snøhetta and Hassell - the winning result of an international design excellence competition to transform Harbourside in Darling Harbour into a new, iconic and inviting destination at the heart of Sydney.

The mixed-use redevelopment will deliver a retail, hospitality and entertainment destination and a 42-storey high-end residential tower, with upgrades to public spaces on the waterfront and a new public square connecting the development to Pyrmont Bridge.

CONTRIBUTIONS

Competition, CD, SD

During Harbourside’s Competition and Concept Design stages, I was part of a small team, developing and refining the architectural concept, massing, facade design for the podium, and spatial planning. I also led the preparation of our Competition and Concept Design Reports.

My design role continued throughout Schematic Design, with additional responsibilities coordinating consultant information and interfacing with the client weekly during design reviews.

I also led the preparation of our Schematic Design Report and presentation materials for the project’s Design Integrity Panel presentations and submissions, which was critical to the state significant development approval.

DD, Construction

During Harbourside’s Design Development and Construction stages, I have been part of a larger team, delivering documentation and construction certificate packages, coordinating with consultants, and contributing to additional design work.

My responsibilities during these stages have primarily focused on retail and commercial facade design and documentation.

I worked closely with various stakeholders ensuring the design meets requirements and standards.

This involved detailed planning, problem-solving, and collaboration across disciplines and consultant teams to address any challenges that arose.
